Apparently it caused a frenzy as fans and lovers of the beautiful kit came out en masse and even queued up to get the jersey.

Responding to a fan who had difficulty ordering for the jersey online, the official and verified Twitter handle of Nike UK said,

‘All three Nigeria jerseys have now sold out. There are no current plans for a restock’.

As expected, Twitter NG has reacted and here are some tweets below:

3 million pre order story? Fake news🤦🏿‍♂️

3 million fake shirts on the streets! ✅

NIKE is unhappy😡😠 with the #Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) over the influx of fake Super Eagles jerseys in the country, according to NewTelegraph. https://t.co/x5d06nEy8e

You guys need to understand that Nike didn't wake up one morning & decide to price Nigeria's jersey at 41k.

Worldwide, a newly released Nike Jersey is priced between 70-130 dollars (equivalent to 25,000 – 47,000 naira).

Blame your economy for the price of the jerseys not Nike.

So apparently, you can now get the authentic Super Eagles jersey that Nigeria will use at the World Cup this summer at Nike Store at Ikeja City Mall for N41k. That’s roughly about $115.

And you think people won’t go ahead and buy the N10k asoebi alternative?

Let’s be serious.
